  Dr Spink is a kind, caring and compassionate surgeon who is tops in his field. I had oral cancer, needing almost half of the back of my tongue removed, along with a neck dissection and replacement with a radial forearm free flap. He is truly an artist and everything looks great. He definitely helped me through one of the darkest times of my life. He doesn't take any bull. though. Nor should he. I've seen his reaction when the hospital staff did not do something he had instructed. I could tell he was angry and he let his displeasure be known. However, he was never mean. Just firm. He will not bend the rules just because someone wants him to. He's a professional and I'm sure that makes some people mad. Also, some people forget that doctors are practicing medicine. It will never be perfected and sometimes things go wrong. The surgeon I am angry at is the one I saw earlier who told me my first biopsy was negative for cancer. I recently saw that pathology report. He should have told me that the ulcer on my tongue was suspicious at the time and bore close watching. I didn't smoke or drink so I thought the tissue was normal. Maybe just a virus or something. I would never had waited so long to make an appointment with Dr Spink who was in-network. A lot of what I went through could have been avoided. But what's done is done and I am grateful to him and his staff for everything they've done for me.He and his staff are top-notch.

  Took my autistic son to Dr. Spink for extraction. I had a replacement tooth from our dentist ready to go into the space that would be left afterwards. When my son asked to have the tooth after the extraction, he was told no because it is against OSHA regulations. My son overwhelmed by the news left the room. I convinced him that it would be ok to take a photo of the tooth instead and he agreed to have the tooth temoved. The office refused to pull the tooth and later said they were medically savvy with autistic patients. These people are not even medically savvy with federal and state regulations that say, according to OSHA and CDC, a patient can have their extracted tooth to bring home. Now we have to search quickly for a dental surgeon who will do what this dentist should have done. I would be totally wary of such incompetence and ignorance and find anotheroffice if I were you. This turned out to be an extremely aggravating and unnecessary occurance. Maybe, based on pevious reviews too, we are fortunate that this Dr. Spink will come no where near my son's tooth.
